For you, Mum

This picture is of Mum and I on my first plane journey. I don't remember where we were going exactly, but it doesn't matter. For me this photograph illustrates something more important, a point which we all have to remind ourselves of every now and then even if it is cliché - life is a journey. The amazing women that were there from the start, the ones that looked after us, fed us and put us to bed, those women are the ones who get us through our journey in one piece.

All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.

My mum has fought her way through cancer, run two marathons, raised three young men (at least one of which is half decent) and even though he tells terrible Dad jokes, she married an amazing man, together they built a home and raised a family.

Mum has already had an amazing journey herself and has plans for so much more. My hope is that with this blog, she can share her past, present and future adventures so that the world can see what an astounding woman she is.
